Okay yes this may not be your traditional chinese new year cookie, but since they are a favourite of the family, I cannot NOT make them, can I? My tried and tested recipe (since I do like them slightly chewy in the middle) is from Richard Sax’s Classic Home Desserts cook book. They are truly gorgeous, a chewy chocolatey brown cookie dough that fills the kitchen with lovely chocolate and vanilla aroma! Yummm
